What does a diagnostic check cost?
Diagnostics are quoted — the time needed depends on the fault and the vehicle. We will tell you what it will cost to find the problem before we start, so the diagnosis itself is never the surprise.
My engine light is on. Is it safe to drive?
It depends on what triggered it. A steady light usually means a fault has been logged and should be looked at soon; a flashing light generally means stop driving, because continuing can damage the catalytic converter. Call (09) 827 0322 and describe it and we will tell you honestly.
Can you clear a fault code?
We can, but clearing a code without fixing the cause just means it comes back — and it will still be there at WoF time. We diagnose the underlying fault, fix it, then clear the code.
Do you diagnose European cars?
Yes. Our equipment reads modern controllers across BMW, Audi, VW and Mercedes as well as Japanese and domestic makes.
